[re]Percute Ensemble
Founded in 2015 at Universidade Federal de Mato Grosso, in Cuiabá, Brazil, [re]Percute Ensemble meets a demand for chamber percussion in its region. [re]Percute also aims at building an audience for contemporary music in Mato Grosso. Active in the community it serves, the ensemble offers percussion classes for the community. Percussionist Zeca Lacerda, its artistic director, is active in the concert percussion and contemporary music scene, having worked with composers such as Bob Becker, Christian Wolff, Elliott Sharp, George Lewis, James Romig, Jeff Herriott, John L. Adams, Lewis Nielson, Steve Reich, Stuart Saunders Smith, Thomas DeLio, and others.
Interaction, dedication, delivery, and constant development are the motto of the group.
